As “…matriarch of Colorado handbag designers,” according to The Denver Post,  she has sold internationally to over 600 galleries, shipping over 60,000 bags to museums and high end boutiques from Maine to Hawaii. Paris, too.


Alice’s Tapestries bags have been carried in The Smithsonian Institute, The National Textile Museum, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Women’s National Gallery of Art, The San Diego Museum of Art, The Morgan Library, The Denver Art Museum and too many to mention. Gorgeous museum shops.

Alice defected to Santa Fe, NM from Colorado, relinquishing her crown as 'matriarch' of Colorado handbag designers in early 2007 to explore a less crowded and more artistic life.


Alice Monroney was trained in marketing and sales by a Fortune 100 company, TRW, Inc. now part of Northrup Grumman, before her creative incarnation as handbag designer. She was a career "automobile" girl. Selling cars in Savannah, managing a classic car dealership on Hilton Head Island, SC. There Alice was Hilton Head Rugby Queen. Alice left the automobile business in 1985. For obvious reasons.
