As “…matriarch of Colorado handbag designers,” according to The Denver Post,  she has sold internationally to over 600 galleries, shipping over 60,000 bags to museums and high end boutiques from Maine to Hawaii. Paris, too.

Alice’s Tapestries bags have been carried in The Smithsonian Institute, The National Textile Museum, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Women’s National Gallery of Art, The San Diego Museum of Art, The Morgan Library, The Denver Art Museum and too many to mention. Gorgeous museum shops.

What I hear about the bags (is this fun or what?):
"My friend's are drooling over my bag! "Sandy C., Rockville, Md.  "Everywhere I go I get comments on my wonderful bag." Everyone.  "I use my bag for traveling all the time. " Libby D., Marina Del Rey, CA. "I get stopped in the airports all over the world."Mary J. Denver, CO. "This woman screamed when she saw my bag she love it so much! She scared me!" I guess! Martha C., Vail, CO  "Great conversation piece." Dale, Bluffton, SC.  "I make friends over my bag!" Can't for the life of me remember who told me this.  "My daughter stole my bag and won't give it back." a dear woman at a show in the mountains of Colorado.  "I gave my sister one of your bags and she won't carry anything else." Dave B., Denver, CO "I wish it would wear out so I could justify buying another one!" "Even my husband loves my bag." "People are delighted by my bag, great icebreaker." "I have to hang on to my bag with both hands or my best friend would have taken it! So I got her one for her birthday." "My mother loves the bag I gave her for her birthday. She wears it everywhere." "People light up when they see my bag. " "Everyone wants to know where to get my bag." "I memorized your company name so when people asked me where they could get one of your  bags I could tell them."  "Your bags are just beautiful." Caroline T. Ojai, CA.
...there are so many more lovely things people have said. I have a stack of charming notes that people sent me over the years. So nice.  Will put a gem up here sometime. Remind me.

“Best of Denver” in Westword, Denver, CO.,  2001.
"Best of Santa Fe" U.S. Commerce Association, 2011.

Alice defected to Santa Fe, NM from Colorado, relinquishing her crown as 'matriarch' of Colorado handbag designers in early 2007 to explore a less crowded and more artistic life.

Alice Monroney was trained in marketing and sales by a Fortune 100 company, TRW, Inc. now part of Northrup Grumman, before her creative incarnation as handbag designer. She was a career "automobile" girl. Selling cars in Savannah, managing a classic car dealership on Hilton Head Island, SC. There Alice was Hilton Head Rugby Queen. Alice left the automobile business in 1985. For obvious reasons.
